Here you’ll have to insert the information about database type, you hostname and password and of course database name, as well as choose the table prefix. If you haven’t created a database at your hosting than you should do that. Rookies should look for some tutorials at their hosting provider’s website concerning database setup. In general there are few simple steps:
- create a database;
- create database user;
- assign database user to this very database;
- give permission to the user

FTP Configuration
This step is optional and you can skip it if you wish. But remember that FTP is an important part of any website’s maintenance and it would be better to read some additional information or contact the experienced webmaster to learn more about it before skipping this step.

Main Configuration
Here you’ll fill out the fields with Admin’s username, email and password (please be sure that you’ll take some custom username to be more secure, “admin” and “administrator” are the first options the hackers will try when attempting to hack your website).

Completely Remove Installation Folder
By deleting the installation folder you are finishing the process of installation. Right after that you can login to your admin account and start using Joomla 1.6 CMS for managing your website.
