The status of a woman in our modern society is explicit and stable, but it has not always been the case. For hundreds of years women were incapacitated and had to uphold their rights in various spheres of life. Today we speak about a number of adopted laws like suffrage and anti-discrimination practice that have improved the position of a woman in the modern world. Though, we still remember a lot of examples when women went down in the history as the powerful rulers in the ancient times. We also remember about the famous female warriors that defended their lands on equal terms with men. Their courage and fearlessness are worth our admiration and even today we hold them in remembrance.
