“But I don’t want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.
“You must be,” said the Cat, “or you wouldn’t have come here.”
(Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Chapter 6)
Overall madness, complete craziness, weird things and strange creatures – this is all about Wonderland that we find in the famous book by Lewis Carroll. From the first pages we are caught in a trap of this captivating story about the fascinating adventures of the little girl Alice. By dropping into a rabbit hole she gets to the dream world were animals behave like people and the conduct of real people is obscure and incomprehensible. Actually, this land is a real world through the eyes of a child, his own comprehension. According to this perspective, the Alice’s trip is neither more nor less than her acquaintance with grown-ups, with the confusing world around her. Being a metaphor for our own world of adult people, Wonderland shows it in some strange, but rather explicit way.
Let’s follow a White Rabbit and start our trip to the Wonderland, where everything is new for us and reversed, even so familiar Alice with her friends.

“Who are YOU?” said the Caterpillar.
This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, “I–I hardly know, sir, just at present– at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.”

Alice laughed. “There’s no use trying,” she said: “one can’t believe impossible things.”
“I daresay you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”
